Ari is the Principal Architect for SKLARchitecture and the innovative vision behind all design and implementation of projects. With a passion for creating sensual and evocative projects, Ari & his team do not settle for good, following in the legacy of his father, acclaimed architect Oscar Sklar, with whom he works side by side, he continues to redefine the business by striving for excellence in architecture.
A graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture, Ari is a licensed architect within the State of Florida and is N.C.A.R.B Certified. Ari cultivated his professional training by soaking up his father’s discipline over a span of 30+ years. Ari’s experience with architectural drafting technology has aided Sklarchitecture in precisely weaving the aesthetic aspect of a project with the latest computer software, growing the firm, and improving the bottom line for all clientelle. He has truly transformed this company into one of the most innovative and prodigious architectural design firms in South Florida.
Ari’s experience includes programming, project design, construction documents, construction administration, interior design, planning & quality control, and surveying facilities for code compliance. His project management experience includes projects ranging from $100,000.00 home renovations to a $100,000,000.00 Pharmaceutical Project in New Jersey. From Day Care Centers to mixed-use projects, Ari puts his heart & soul into each design proposal and construction project.
An engaged & involved citizen/architect, Ari sits on the Historic Presentation Board of the City of Hollywood, the Hollywood CRA/City of Hollywood Permitting Task Force, and has been a long time member of the American Institute of Architects. Additionally, Ari Sklar is a founding member of the local Young Architects Forum, a program of the AIA and the College of Fellows that was established in 1991 to address issues of particular importance to recently licensed architects, within 10 years after licensure.
Outside the architectural sphere, Ari is heavily involved with the North Miami Beach Little League. An enthusiastic sports fanatic, Ari loves the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Miami Heat, and Florida Panthers. Ari lives with his wife, 3 children & 2 dogs near the Dade-Broward line. Ari is fluent in both English & Spanish & claims to know some Hebrew & a tab of Yiddish. His Architectural influencers are Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Antoine Predock, & of course the incredible architect Oscar Sklar.
