The Original Pancake House

The Original Pancake House recruited SKLARchitecture to assist with their plan to expand the company and introduce an array of new franchise locations throughout the state of Florida. Our design firm crafted a new OPH architectural prototype that draws from typical "Key West" and "Martha's Vineyard" building features and implements the brand's old-world feel to create a truly unique dining atmosphere. Our firm has designed Original Pancake House locations in Delray Beach, Doral, Jacksonville, Plantation, and Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

On the exterior of the prototype building, familiar architectural materials can be seen including wood siding, split concrete blocks, wood columns, and metal roofing. These features, used in conjunction, give the Original Pancake House locations a bold and iconic image for customers to remember- one that will help to give the restaurant locations a competitive advantage in their industry.

Finally, within the 5,000 square feet of interior space, the new building features a 2,000 square foot dining area, and a  2,500 square foot kitchen & "pantry" area. The prototype design incorporates new features such as a "box" for counter service, an ice cream "jerk" station, and a new merchandising area. The interior spaces boast simulated wood floors and white beadboard paneling serving as wainscot & booth facing. The seating fabrics & interior paint colors play off each other to create a lively and coordinated interior atmosphere.
