The design for this house was envisioned as the convergence of contemporary tropical architecture and Asian-influenced stylistic elements; this led to the client naming the project "Fusion House." The linear plan is organized around a courtyard that creates phenomenal visual connections along the East/West axis and a number of water-front views that extend out beyond the perimeter of the home. Within the house, the user never loses sight of the structure's surroundings- from the park to the West side of the home, to the serene courtyard with its fire pit, and toward the pool/waterway on the East side of the property.
The project’s elongated property lot allows for the program to embrace the outdoors and bring that experience indoors. Natural elements including treated woods are kept continuous and consistent throughout the exterior of the home.
The main design strategy entailed bringing characteristics of the surrounding ecosystem into the built environment, such as the central water feature that can be viewed from the "Great Room". Natural lighting floods into the home through floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as through the double-height foyer space.
